The former Nigerian head of state, General Abdulsalam Abubakar, has urged the agitating groups in the country to embrace dialogue as the only means to sustain growth of the economy.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Nnewi Hotel and Events Centre in Nnewi, Anambra state, built by his friend, Ben Aghazu, Abubakar appealed to members of the Niger-Delta Avengers (NDA), the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) to see project Nigeria as a baby learning how to grow which would take a process of development, Vanguard reports.

He said that the collective responsibility of every Nigerian would ensure sustainable growth for the economy.

Abdulsalam Abubakar has urged Niger Delta Avengers and other agitating groups in the country to embrace dialogue.

Abubakar who also went on facility tours of the Chikason Group manufacturing owned by Dr Chika Okafor, Ibeto Group, manufacturer of battery, plastics and cement, praised the manufacturers for their contribution to the development of the country.

Okafor thanked Abubakar for his visit to the company and appealed to the federal government to assist the manufacturers to enable them contribute more to the economy of the country.

BESTNAIJA NEWS.com recalls that Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.), had a short meeting with President Muhammadu Buhariat the presidential villa, Abuja, on Thursday, August 18.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, Abubakar said he discussed issues of national interest and international affairs with Buhari.

“I came to discuss issues of national interest and international affairs with the President. Both of them are interwoven. I have discussed with the person I came to see and I don’t think I need to discuss it in the news media,”he said
