Nigeria singer Davido involved in multi million naira 'fraud' [photos]

Afro pop star Davido has reportedly failed to show up for a music performance for which he was paid several millions of naira.

This act has incensed the organizers who are looking to get a refund from the 23-year-old father of one.

Punch reports that the Skelewu crooner was contacted to perform at the Festival of India concert which held in Lagos on Saturday, August 13, 2016 but failed to show up.

Rather, he reportedly got back to the organizers on the night of Friday, August 12, 2016 with reasons he couldn’t be present at the gig.

According to sources who spoke to Punch, the music star complained of being “indisposed” hence his inability to be present at the concert as well as perform.

Reports further say he was paid upfront to the tune of N7 million by the organizers of the festival.
While this is still unconfirmed, Bolaji Rosiji, the organizer of the Festival of India concert has made it clear that efforts have been made to contact the singer’s lawyers in a bid to get a refund of the amount paid.

This is surprising but not unbelievable considering Davido’s timeline of controversies.
The music star who is currently signed to Sony Music and RCA has a thing for controversial situations and over time he has built an image on the back of this.

If he isn’t in a face-off with his baby mama Sophia Momodu, then he is feuding with ace publisher Dele Momodu, or one of his label mates at HKN.
He has also been involved in on-off situations with fellow music star, Wizkid. All of this put together has seen the singer thrive in the nascent Nigerian music industry, not to forget of course that his catalogue has been stellar since he dropped his first official record Back When featuring hip hop icon Naeto C in 2011
